Inquiring minds want to know!
(Frequently Asked Questions)
What Is BandSurfing?
We think booking shows should be easier for everyone involved. We think great bands don't need booking agencies. We also think great venues don't necessarily accept Ticketmaster. In short, BandSurfing wants to make it easier for bands and venues to get together.
How does BandSurfing work?
We match you up with appropriate venues or bands (depending on the type of account you have). Based on certain criteria, we filter our database and come up with a list of potential matches geared toward what you do. Find a venue you like, if they've listed a show opening on a particular date, add your submission to the date. It shouldn't take too long to find out whether you are booked or not.
How much does it cost? (For Venues)
It's Free!

What the heck are "plugs"?
Each show submission by a band to a venue costs one plug. By default every band receives 3 plugs per month. FREE! If you think you might need more plugs you might consider refilling your account or subscribing.
Why should I pay for a subscription?
You don't need to. For many bands, 3 plugs per month are enough. Each subscription type is geared toward your potential reach. You may not want to book a national tour yet, but if you want to branch out to neighboring cities and states, perhaps regional subscription is for you. If you're ready for your 30 date U.S. tour, give the national subscription a try!
Can you guarantee that I will get shows using BandSurfing.com?
Not necessarily. But, the hope is that you will have an easier time finding appropriate venues for you and at very least you'll get faster feedback from potential venues.
I'm the booking person for a venue. Why should we become a part of BandSurfing?
Put simply, because you are busy. Book the kinds of bands that appeal to your venue on the days you specify. No overly general emails to muddle through.
Who is BandSurfing?
BandSurfing was created by me, Javier Romero. There are two things I love: playing music and coding. When I was 13 I got my first electric guitar. I've been in great bands (Mistletoe, Cherry Tempo and The Giranimals). I've toured the country and showcased at SXSW. My songs have appeared on MTV and Fuse Networks. I've also had the opportunity to book some of my favorite bands in my hometown.
When I was 17 I got my first computer, I had an initial interest in graphic design but as I got more into web development I grew to love application development. BandSurfing the culmination the things I love to do. I really don't want to do much else. Give BandSurfing a try. I hope it is useful for you.
